Hello, my name is Victor. This is my website, my corner. I would like to use this space to share with you my tango journey.
I was born in Tacuarembo, Uruguay. I spent my childhood with my grandparents at their house in a town called San Gregorio de Polanco.
San Gregorio de Polanco is a quiet countryside with fruit trees, horses and cows everywhere. Every day, after having lunch, my grandparents would take a nap with the radio on. I remember there always a 30 mins tango orchestra program on the radio right before the lottery results. Besides, my grandparents always play very traditional Uruguayan music and country tangos such as Carlos Gardel, Alfredo Zitarroza, Jorge Cafrune, ,Roberto Firpo, Jose Larralde, etc at home. Tango is in our daily life, it is part of the Uruguayan culture. This is my very first memory of tango.
When I was a teenage, I moved to Argentina to live with my parents. We first lived in Sante Fe, a country side, and then a few years later, we moved to Buenos Aires, the Capital. In Buenos Aires, I came across tango as a dance. At that moment, I found that I have found the missing piece of my tango journey.
When I was a child, I grew up in Uruguay with tango music, learned the lyrics and poetries of tango little by little; and eventually, I danced tango in Argentina. I feel tango would not be complete if missing either of the elements – dance, music, lyrics, culture. When entering milongas, incorporating the tango culture, I find the completeness in tango.
This is how I grew up in tango. Tango is in my blood, is part of the Uruguayan culture. Tango leaves a mark in my life which influences every step of my life.

I served as teaching assistant to a few renowned tango teachers such as Jesus Velazquez, Ferrio, Dinzel etc, since 2006 where I gained technical knowledge as well as teaching techniques from my mentors. In 2008, I started to give class on my own. I also took part in various tango show performance and tango theatre projects. Since 2010, I specialised in giving tango class to patients with Alzheimer and Parkinson and later I started to give tango class to people with blindness or vison impairment.
